About Prodigal Kids

Prodigal Kids is a nonprofit, private agency which provides behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and their families. We provide a range of services to meet your child's needs, including Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug (ATOD) Prevention, Substance Use and Abuse Intervention, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Mental Health Counseling, Community Outreach, and Health and Wellness.


Prodigal  Kids' serves children and adolescents in elementary, middle and high  school. We also provide parent education and resources to families. 

Team Prodigal Kids

Prodigal Kids' staff is comprised of counselors with various credentials, backgrounds, training, and specialties, so we are able to offer a wide variety of treatment, including play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and behavioral intervention.  


All clinicians at Prodigal Kids are licensed alcohol and drug professionals or at a minimum Master's Level Professionals.

Our Main Location:


(Monday - Friday  9AM to 4PM (Walk-ins welcome). Saturdays (by appointment only)  


Our Main office is located off Sunbeam Road between Philips Highway and San Jose Road on the south side of Jacksonville, Florida. It is easily accessible from I-95 and with JTA bus service:

Licensing:

Prodigal Kids is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families.


How to become a client:

The first thing we will do is screen the potential client to determine if we are the best fit to meet the client's needs. Many clients come to Prodigal Kids on their own, known as self-referral. However, some clients are referred to Prodigal Kids from a variety of sources including: but not limited to: state or local agencies, other community providers, probation officers, school counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists, and hospitals. To refer a potential client complete the Referral Form or send an email to: referral@prodigalkids.org
